Carlos Ng’s Little Architect Toolset is a miniature modular magnetic set of architect’s tools made up of candy-colored wooden pieces in straight and curved form. Each of the tools deconstructs into separate pieces, and can be interchanged with other pieces to create new tools. Neophytes can learn to build by first building with the tools they’ll use to build. It’s a creative construction toy in the truest sense of the word.
The toolset is the winner of the first Parsons+Areaware Design competition which called on students to design objects with a maximum $30 price point that would fit in with Areaware’s existing line.
Great news: Areaware is going to put the toolset into production. Equally great news: the charity Architecture for Humanity will benefit from their sales. We’d say this design really measures up!
